The local take
The climb is part of the experience, opening up wide views over Jaipur as you go. Wear comfortable footwear and visit in cooler daylight hours.
Garh Ganesh Temple was built in 1761 under Sawai Madho Singh I on a hill overlooking the City Palace and the old city. Tradition holds that a temple to Ganesh was placed here so it could be seen from the palace for auspiciousness, and the climb to the temple today rewards visitors with wide views over Jaipur.
