Galtaji is an 18th-century pilgrimage complex built by Diwan Rao Kriparam, a courtier of Sawai Jai Singh II, on a site associated with the ancient sage Galav. Set among low hills, it includes temple pavilions, natural springs, sacred water tanks (kunds), and a hilltop Surya (Sun) temple, and is well known for its resident populations of monkeys.
